It seems likely there are several Fantasy managers who started Elijah Moore for the first time last week. That did not go well for those Fantasy managers. And the conventional wisdom from last week seems to be that we can no longer trust Moore because Zach Wilson is back. I’m not totally sure I buy that.
It is true that Moore has been much better with Joe Flacco, Josh Johnson, and Mike White. And I’d even accept the argument that those quarterbacks are all currently better than Wilson. But they aren’t that much better.
Moore was the No. 1 receiver in Fantasy for four weeks before falling flat last week in Wilson’s return. But let’s forget about the quarterback narrative and look at everything else. The Jets won last week, which is rare enough, and Wilson only threw 24 passes. That means Moore’s eight targets were a 33% target share, the second straight week he’s received at least 30% of the targets. That type of volume, even with a bad quarterback, deserves more patience than one bad week considering what Moore’s upside has looked like.
The other part of this equation is just how bad receiver has fallen apart the past month. I can make a far better case for starting Moore than DK Metcalf, Mike Williams, DeVonta Smith, or any receiver on the Broncos, Jaguars, Texans or Giants.

Week 13 WR Preview
The following players are not being projected to play Week 13 at this time. Here’s what it means:
WR Preview
Numbers to Know
- 43 — DK Metcalf has not topped 43 receiving yards in a game since Week 7.
- 45.7% — Terry McLaurin leads the NFL with a 45.3% share of his team’s air yards.
- 31% — Darnell Mooney has a 31% target share since Week 8, behind only Tyreek Hill.
- 11 — Randall Cobb leads the NFL with 11 targets inside the 10 yard line. That’s a lot of opportunity for someone if he’s out.
- 21.7 — DeSean Jackson leads the NFL with a 21.7 aDOT. You can’t be consistent with that role, but he’s a nice boom/bust bye week replacement in a bind.
- 9 — Hunter Renfrow has nine targets in three of his past four games. He’s a must-start receiver as long as Darren Waller is out.
- 83.6 — Antonio Brown leads the Buccaneers with 83.6 yards per game. We expect him back this week.
