The San Jose State Spartans will stay at home another game and welcome the South Dakota Coyotes at 10 p.m. ET Nov. 30 at Provident Credit Union Event Center. The Spartans will be strutting in after a victory while South Dakota will be stumbling in from a defeat.
SJSU can’t say they have nothing to be thankful for this Thanksgiving week. They escaped with a win last week against the Northern Colorado Bears by the margin of a single free throw, 75-74. Among those leading the charge for SJSU was guard Omari Moore, who had 28 points and five assists.
Meanwhile, South Dakota ended up a good deal behind the Nebraska Cornhuskers when they played this past Saturday, losing 83-70. Guard Xavier Fuller just could not get things rolling his way, picking up four fouls and turning the ball over five times en route to a 2-for-11, 8-point finish.
Barring any buzzer beaters, SJSU is expected to win a tight contest Tuesday. They hadn’t treated fans well this season, but they at least enjoy a 4-1 record against the spread.
The Spartans’ win brought them up to 2-3 while the Coyotes’ loss pulled them down to 4-2. Two defensive stats to keep an eye on: SJSU has allowed their opponents to shoot 49.10% from the floor on average, which is the fourth highest shooting percentage allowed in college basketball. South Dakota has experienced some struggles of their own as they have allowed their opponents to shoot 46.40% from the floor on average, which is the 37th highest shooting percentage allowed in college basketball. The good news? The teams might be seeing more of their shots fall.
