Sports gamblers should be happy that November is over. The betting crowd had one of its worth months ever when it came to gambling on the NFL. That’s because underdogs covered the spread in almost 60 percent of NFL games during the month of November.

In total, 23 underdogs won outright while prime-time favorites failed to cover on a weekly basis, ESPN reported. In the past 30 years, Nevada sportsbooks have held onto an average of 5.5 percent of the money that was bet. However, The SuperBook at Westgate Las Vegas managed to hold onto a whopping 6.25 percent during the month of November thanks to all of the upsets.

“It looks like it will wind up being one of our best hold months in Nevada on record,” SuperBook executive direct John Murray told ESPN.

According to Murray, the Jacksonville Jaguars defeating the Buffalo Bills was the SuperBook’s best single day of the 2021 season thus far. Other big wins for the book in November included both the San Francisco 49ers and Tennessee Titans defeating the Los Angeles Rams in primetime contests in back-to-back weeks and the Miami Dolphins taking down the Baltimore Ravens in a Thursday night primetime showdown.

As if bettors didn’t get hurt enough in November, the nationally-televised prime time games seemingly did the most damage. And to make this hurt even more for gamblers, the big November for sportsbooks followed an October that featured sportsbooks having three consecutive losing weeks.
