The Denver Pioneers are staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Wyoming Cowboys at 9 p.m. ET Dec. 2 at Arena-Auditorium. Wyoming will be strutting in after a victory while the Pioneers will be stumbling in from a defeat.
Denver came up short against the Utah Valley Wolverines on Saturday, falling 77-68.
Meanwhile, Wyoming strolled past the Cal State Fullerton Titans with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 79-66. Four players on Wyoming scored in the double digits: guard Hunter Maldonado (21), forward Graham Ike (17), guard Xavier DuSell (16), and guard Drake Jeffries (14).
Denver have to know they’ll be fighting an uphill battle given the 20 point spread they are up against. They might be worth taking a chance on against the spread, however, as they are currently on a four-game streak of ATS wins.
Denver’s loss took them down to 3-5 while Wyoming’s win pulled them up to 6-0. Hunter Maldonado will be someone to keep an eye on after he had 21 points and nine assists in addition to five rebounds on Monday. Let’s see if he can build on that strong performance or if Denver’s defense can bottle him up.
