The #3 Gonzaga Bulldogs will square off against the #16 Alabama Crimson Tide at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday at Climate Pledge Arena. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous games.
Gonzaga beat the Tarleton St. Texans 64-55 on Monday. The Bulldogs’ center Chet Holmgren did his thing and had 15 points in addition to nine rebounds and four blocks. Holmgren has also now had at least three blocks in his past four games.
Meanwhile, Bama took their contest on Sunday with ease, bagging a 96-64 victory over the Miami (Fla.) Hurricanes. The Crimson Tide’s success was spearheaded by the efforts of guard JD Davison, who posted a double-double on 13 points and ten assists along with six boards, and guard Keon Ellis, who shot 5-for-6 from downtown and finished with 22 points.
Gonzaga is now 7-1 while Bama sits at 6-1. Two offensive stats to keep an eye on: Gonzaga ranks first in college basketball when it comes to field goal percentage, with 54.40% on the season. Bama has displayed some offensive firepower of their own as they enter the matchup with 85.7 points per game on average, good for 16th best in college basketball.
