What to Know
The New England Patriots lost both of their matches to the Buffalo Bills last season on scores of 21-24 and 9-38, so they’re hoping to turn the tables this season. The Patriots and Buffalo will face off in an AFC East battle at 8:15 p.m. ET on Monday at Highmark Stadium. Both teams have allowed few points on average (New England 15.83, Buffalo 16.55), so any points scored will be well earned.
New England made easy work of the Tennessee Titans this past Sunday and carried off a 36-13 win. The score was close at the half, but New England pulled away in the second half with 20 points. QB Mac Jones and WR Kendrick Bourne were among the main playmakers for New England as the former passed for two TDs and 310 yards on 32 attempts and the latter was on the other end of those TDs.
Special teams collected 18 points for the Patriots. K Nick Folk delivered a perfect 5-for-5 game.
As for the Bills, they can’t say they have nothing to be thankful for this Thanksgiving week. They blew past the New Orleans Saints 31-6 last week. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Buffalo had established a 24 to nothing advantage. It was another big night for their QB Josh Allen, who passed for four TDs and 260 yards on 28 attempts in addition to picking up 43 yards on the ground.
Their wins bumped New England to 8-4 and Buffalo to 7-4. With both the Patriots and the Bills swaggering in after impressive performances, it will be interesting to see which team steps up to teach the other some humility.
