The Detroit Pistons were expected to win this one, and they are just one quarter away from fulfilling that expectation. After three quarters it’s looking more and more like their high-powered offense is just too much for the Oklahoma City Thunder as the Pistons lead 84-72.
Shooting guard Cade Cunningham has led the way so far for Detroit, as he has shot 5-for-9 from downtown and has posted a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds along with five dimes. One thing to keep an eye out for is Killian Hayes’ foul situation as he currently sits at four.
Oklahoma City has been led by shooting guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who so far has 22 points and seven assists in addition to two blocks.
This is the first time Detroit has been ahead going into the fourth quarter in the past six games.

What to Know
After five games on the road, the Detroit Pistons are heading back home. After a few days’ rest for both teams, they and the Oklahoma City Thunder will meet up at 7 p.m. ET Dec. 6 at Little Caesars Arena. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they’ll have plenty of motivation to get the ‘W.’
Detroit received a tough blow this past Thursday as they fell 114-103 to the Phoenix Suns. A silver lining for the Pistons was the play of power forward Jerami Grant, who had 34 points in addition to six boards. Grant hadn’t helped his team much against the Portland Trail Blazers last week, so this was a nice turnaround for him.
Meanwhile, the night started off rough for Oklahoma City this past Thursday, and it ended that way, too. They took a serious blow against the Memphis Grizzlies, falling 152-79. The Thunder were in a tough position by the half, with the score already sitting at 72-36. One thing holding Oklahoma City back was the mediocre play of shooting guard Ty Jerome, who did not have his best game: he finished with 12 points on 5-for-14 shooting and turned the ball over five times in his 35 minutes on the court.
Barring any buzzer beaters, Detroit is expected to win a tight contest Monday. Those playing the odds have seen things go back and forth with Detroit, who are 11-11 against the spread.
The Pistons are now 4-18 while Oklahoma City sits at 6-16. Detroit is 4-13 after losses this season, the Thunder 3-12.
