Who’s Playing
Lipscomb @ Miami (Fla.)
Current Records: Lipscomb 5-4; Miami (Fla.) 6-3
What to Know
The Miami (Fla.) Hurricanes have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Lipscomb Bisons at 7 p.m. ET Dec. 8 at Watsco Center. The Hurricanes will be strutting in after a win while Lipscomb will be stumbling in from a defeat.
The Clemson Tigers typically have all the answers at home, but this past Saturday Miami (Fla.) proved too difficult a challenge. Miami (Fla.) managed an 80-75 victory over Clemson. Miami (Fla.)’s success was spearheaded by the efforts of forward Sam Waardenburg, who had 18 points, and guard Jordan Miller, who had 13 points.
Meanwhile, the Bisons found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 85-64 punch to the gut against the Chattanooga Mocs on Sunday.
The Hurricanes’ win brought them up to 6-3 while Lipscomb’s loss pulled them down to 5-4. Two defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Miami (Fla.) has allowed their opponents to shoot 46.70% from the floor on average, which is the 24th highest shooting percentage allowed in college basketball. Lipscomb has experienced some struggles of their own as they are 10th worst in college basketball in points allowed per game, with 80.3 on average. It’s possible one of these Achilles’ heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
