Pistons vs. Wizards: How to watch NBA online, TV channel, live stream info, game time

Through 3 Quarters

Down eight at the end of last quarter, the Washington Wizards have now snagged the lead. After three quarters neither squad has the contest in the bag, but Washington leads 89-86 over the Detroit Pistons.

Shooting guard Bradley Beal has led the way so far for the Wizards, as he has 18 points. Detroit has enjoyed the tag-team combination of power forward Jerami Grant and point guard Frank Jackson. The former has 23 points in addition to five boards, while the latter has 16 points.

Detroit hasn’t lost 94% of the games in which they were down heading into the final period this season, so a win here would be refreshing.

Washington @ Detroit

Current Records: Washington 14-11; Detroit 4-19

What to Know

The Washington Wizards will hit the road for the third straight game as they head to Little Caesars Arena at 7 p.m. ET Wednesday. Given that these two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

The Wizards were within striking distance but couldn’t close the gap on Monday as they fell 116-110 to the Indiana Pacers. One thing holding Washington back was the mediocre play of small forward Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who did not have his best game: he played for 30 minutes but put up just eight points on 3-for-11 shooting.

Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder at home by a decisive 114-103 margin. Detroit was up 63-50 at the end of the half but couldn’t hold on to the lead. Their loss shouldn’t obscure the performances of shooting guard Cade Cunningham, who shot 6-for-11 from beyond the arc and finished with a double-double on 28 points and 11 boards in addition to five dimes, and power forward Jerami Grant, who had 20 points and five assists along with six rebounds.

Washington is the favorite in this one, with an expected 5.5-point margin of victory. Those sticking with them against the spread have guts, to put it politely, as the team has let down bettors in their past three games.

Everything went Washington’s way against Detroit when the two teams previously met in April as they made off with a 121-100 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wizards since the squad won’t have home-court advantage. We’ll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
