The Toronto Raptors were scheduled to practice at the OVO Athletic Center on Thursday morning, but, less than an hour before the scheduled start time, they canceled it due to the NBA‘s COVID-19 health and safety protocols. “The decision was made out of an abundance of caution, and further updates will be provided when necessary,” the team said in a statement.

The Indiana Pacers issued a similar statement Thursday morning before their scheduled practice at the Pacers Athletic Center, also citing “an abundance of caution.”

No one on the Raptors’ roster is officially isolating because of health and safety protocols as of yet. Indiana wing Justin Holiday has been in the protocols since Nov. 30. Around the league, the list of players in the protocols has grown recently, with five members of the Charlotte Hornets (LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier, Mason Plumlee, Jalen McDaniels, Ish Smith) and four members of the Chicago Bulls (DeMar DeRozan, Javonte Green, Coby White, Matt Thomas) sidelined. Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies and Austin Rivers of the Denver Nuggets are also out due to health and safety protocols.

Rivers’ teammates Bol Bol and Bones Hyland were recently cleared, as was Los Angeles Clippers forward Nicolas Batum

Toronto lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder at Scotiabank Arena on Wednesday and will host the New York Knicks on Friday. The Pacers beat the Knicks at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Wednesday, and the Dallas Mavericks will visit Indiana on Friday.
