In their 76-56 blowout victory against Merrimack, there were four players who scored double-digit points. Merrimack’s offense struggled mightily as it shot 34 percent from the field. Senior forward Jaylan Gainey led the team with 17 points as he shot a perfect 8 of 8 from the field.

Graduate student Tamenang Choh tallied a near double-double. Choh finished with 11 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and two steals. The Bears had it going from three, knocking down 43 percent of their 3-point attempts. Junior guard Paxson Wojcik and freshman guard Kino Lilly Jr. each hit four 3-pointers apiece. 

Why Vermont can cover

There are three players who average at least 11 points per game for Vermont. Senior forward Ryan Davis is averaging a team-best 17 points with 6.1 rebounds and 1.4 blocks. Davis has scored at least 14 points in seven of the nine games he’s played in. His best outing came in a win against Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He recorded 28 points, nine rebounds and three blocks in that matchup.
