The New York Jets have struggled with injuries more than most teams this season, and they have just lost one of their young bright spots on offense for at least three weeks. On Saturday, the club officially placed wide receiver Elijah Moore on injured reserve with a quad injury.

Moore was listed as questionable for the Jets’ Week 14 matchup against the New Orleans Saints despite not practicing all week. Now, he will have to miss at least three weeks. According to Hughes, the Jets’ hope is that Moore will only miss three games, but it’s possible it could be longer.

The second-round pick out of Ole Miss has quickly evolved into one of the Jets’ most consistent offensive weapons. Over the past five games, Moore has caught 28 passes for 392 yards and five touchdowns, including an eight-catch, 141-yard, one-touchdown performance against the Miami Dolphins in Week 11. He joins fellow wide receiver Corey Davis and running back Michael Carter as the new offensive additions now on injured reserve.

Robert Saleh will now turn to Denzel Mims, Braxton Berrios, Jamison Crowder and Keelan Cole to carry rookie quarterback Zach Wilson and the passing game Sunday.
