Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry is only two 3-pointers away from passing Ray Allen for the most in NBA history, making tickets for Tuesday’s Warriors-Knicks game at Madison Square Garden a hot commodity. Or, more aptly, the hottest commodity.
On TickPick, the get-in price for Tuesday’s game is $565 while the most expensive ticket costs $7,500. That’s reportedly the largest get-in price in MSG history and more than double the next highest-priced Knicks home game this season, a Christmas Day date with Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks starting at $180.
The ticket prices for Warriors-Knicks this week are much different than what they were a few months ago. Before the season, TickPick had the game’s get-in price at $100, a whopping 465% less than the current number.
Curry’s looming three-point record affected more than Tuesday’s ticket prices. According to TicketIQ, tickets for Monday’s Warriors-Pacers game in Indiana averaged $417, almost triple the Pacers‘ average price of $156. The Warriors’ visit to Boston on Friday is selling for $568, more than double the Celtics‘ average of $260.
The Warriors (22-5) are coming off a 102-100 win over Indiana in which Curry scored 26 points and hit five 3-pointers. Curry is hoping to win and break Ray Allen’s record of 2,973 3-pointers against a Knicks (12-15) team allowing opponents to convert 36.1% from deep at home, the seventh-worst mark in the NBA.
