The Detroit Pistons have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Phoenix Suns at 1 p.m. ET Jan. 16 at Little Caesars Arena. The Pistons are out to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
Detroit didn’t have too much trouble with the Toronto Raptors at home this past Friday as they won 103-87. Among those leading the charge for Detroit was power forward Trey Lyles, who had 21 points in addition to seven boards.
Meanwhile, Phoenix strolled past the Indiana Pacers with points to spare this past Friday, taking the contest 112-94. Phoenix relied on the efforts of center Deandre Ayton, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds, and shooting guard Devin Booker, who shot 6-for-13 from downtown and finished with 35 points.
Detroit is the clear underdog, so they’re hoping it’s the size of the fight that determines this one. Those playing the odds have seen things go back and forth with the Pistons, who are 20-21 against the spread.
The wins brought Detroit up to 10-31 and the Suns to 32-9. Two numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: Detroit has only been able to knock down 41.60% percent of their shots, which is the lowest field goal percentage in the league. Phoenix’s defense has more to brag about, as they they have been holding their opponents to a field goal percentage of 43.50%, which places them second in the league. So the cards are definitely stacked in their favor.
