Why Baylor can cover

Texas owns a 163-95 advantage in the all-time series, but the Bears have won each of the last five meetings. Baylor posted an 80-63 victory at home on Feb. 12 as all five starters scored in double figures. Junior guard Adam Flagler led the way with 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting, including 4-of-5 from beyond the arc, while senior forward Flo Thamba recorded 12 points and 11 rebounds for his first and only double-double of the season.

Thamba is ready to have another strong performance as he’s coming off a career-best 18-point effort in the win over Kansas. Flagler, meanwhile, has reached double digits in points in 10 consecutive contests after scoring 13 against the Jayhawks. Senior guard James Akinjo also was solid in the first meeting of the season with Texas, registering 15 points, a game-high seven assists and six rebounds.

Why Texas can cover

The Longhorns have overcome double-digit deficits in each of their last two contests, as they trailed by 10 at West Virginia with 10 ½ minutes remaining before pulling out the victory. Timmy Allen scored a team-high 26 points on 7-of-9 shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds for his third double-double of the campaign. The senior forward recorded a total of 23 points over his previous two outings.

Texas has gone 277-59 at the Frank Erwin Center over the last 20 seasons, including a 15-2 mark in 2021-22. The team has limited 14 of its 18 opponents at home to fewer than 60 points, holding 11 of them under 53. The Longhorns have posted an 89-33 record against Baylor in games played in Austin.
