Junior guard Julian Champagnie is a productive playmaker for the Red Storm and he’s been one of the top players in the Big East this season. Champagnie ranks second in the conference in scoring (19) and second in steals (1.9). The New York native has been the focal point in St. John’s offense, scoring more than 20 points in 12 games so far.  

On Feb. 18 against Xavier, Champagnie finished with 31 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and a season-high seven steals. This also marked his ninth game with at least three steals. Senior guard Montez Mathis averages 8.6 points and 3.7 rebounds. He has scored in double figures in three of his last five outings. On Feb. 23 against Creighton, Mathis had 15 points, two assists, and two steals.
