NASCAR DFS: Top 2022 Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 daily Fantasy picks, Atlanta strategy for DraftKings, FanDuel

Born just outside of Atlanta, Chase Elliott is still looking for his first win at his home track, Atlanta Motor Speedway. He’s had success there with five top-10s across seven starts, but a checkered flag remains elusive. With moderate success and no victories, how should you evaluate Elliott for your NASCAR DFS lineups? The green flag for the 2022 Folds of Honor QuikTrip drops at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday and Elliott is among a host of intriguing NASCAR DFS picks.

Kurt Busch won in the Cup Series’ last trip to Atlanta, which is among his four NASCAR at Atlanta victories. Ryan Blaney also won at the track last year and nearly half of his seven races there have resulted in top-five finishes. There are many options to choose from, but who would make the best use of your NASCAR DFS salary cap? Before locking in any NASCAR DFS picks for the 2022 Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500, be sure to check out the optimal NASCAR at Atlanta DFS strategy and advice from SportsLine’s Mike McClure.

McClure has won almost $2 million in his career as a daily Fantasy pro, and his NASCAR DFS driver pool, projections and advice can help you score a big win on Sunday.

Last week, McClure was extremely high on Ryan Blaney in his Ruoff Mortgage 500 picks on sites like DraftKings and FanDuel, and he finished in fourth place, leading for a race-high of 143 laps. Two weeks ago, he was high on Kyle Busch, and he placed fourth after starting 37th in the grid. His model, which simulates every race 10,000 times, called seven outright winners last season.

Anybody who has followed his picks has seen huge returns. Now, he’s turned his attention to Sunday’s Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 2022. He’s only sharing his picks and NASCAR DFS driver pool here.

For NASCAR at Atlanta, we can tell you McClure is high on Kevin Harvick ($9,600 on DraftKings, $11,000 on FanDuel). The veteran fell victim to NASCAR’s damaged vehicle policy at Daytona, but he responded with two top-10s over his next three races. That success is a continuation of how last year finished for Harvick, as he placed in the top 10 in eight of his last 10 races.

No active driver has more Atlanta Motor Speedway experience than Harvick, who has 32 Cup Series races at the track, and no driver has more top-10 finishes than Harvick’s 16. He has three NASCAR Atlanta victories, including his first career Cup Series win. That victory is part of an active stretch for Harvick in which he has seven top-10s over his last eight NASCAR at Atlanta races.

Another part of McClure’s optimal NASCAR DFS strategy also includes rostering Austin Cindric ($7,800 on DraftKings, $9,000 on FanDuel), who is still on a high after winning the Daytona 500 in just his eighth Cup Series start. Cindric led for 21 of the final 45 laps in that race and had two top-20 finishes in his next two races. Cindric had just two top-20s as a part-time driver all of last year, so he’s already surpassed that total through three races.

Cindric competed at Atlanta last year, which is his only appearance at the track in the Cup Series. He finished 22nd, but he has five Xfinity races at Atlanta Motor Speedway, with three of them resulting in top-10 finishes. He also has the luxury of racing for Team Penske, which won this race last year and has three victories over the past five editions of the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500.

How to set 2022 NASCAR at Atlanta DFS lineups

McClure is also targeting an undervalued driver set to return plenty of value. He’s in a prime position to make a run at the checkered flag and comes at a price that won’t break the bank. You can see who it is, and every other pick, right here.
