After he missed four games due to undisclosed personal reasons, Miami Heat point guard Kyle Lowry still seemed to be missing in action in his first five games back. During that stretch, he shot just 24 percent from the field, had no steals, and averaged just 5.6 points per game. He has turned things around over his last three starts, but is he back to normal, or will he leave a hole in your NBA DFS lineups if you include him tonight against New York?
Over his last three games, he has averaged 20.7 points with 6.3 assists and 1.3 steals, but the Heat have lost two of their last three games. Lowry was critical in the Heat’s last game against the Knicks, when he scored 19 points to go with nine rebounds, four assists and two steals. But is he worth springing for in Friday’s NBA DFS player pool? Before you make your NBA DFS picks for Friday, be sure to check out the NBA DFS advice, player rankings, stacks and top daily Fantasy basketball picks from SportsLine’s Mike McClure.
McClure is a DFS professional with nearly $2 million in career winnings. He’s also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account.

On Thursday, McClure listed Bucks point guard Jrue Holiday as one of his top NBA DFS picks on both DraftKings and FanDuel. The result: Against the Wizards, Holiday scored a game-high 24 points to go with 10 assists and a steal to return 44.75 points on DraftKings and 39.6 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.
Now, McClure has turned his attention to the Friday, March 25, NBA DFS slate and locked in his top daily Fantasy basketball picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.
Top NBA DFS picks for Friday, March 25
One of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks on Thursday is 76ers center Joel Embiid ($11,200 on both DraftKings and FanDuel). Embiid wasn’t available when Philadelphia played Miami on Monday (back), but the 76ers were able to pull out the win without him. In his return on Wednesday against the Lakers, Embiid scored a game-high 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to go with three blocks in another Philly victory.
Head coach Doc Rivers leads the 76ers against his former team, the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday. The last time Embiid took to the floor against the Clippers, he dropped 40 points in addition to 13 rebounds, six assists and a block. In the five games before sitting out against Miami, Embiid averaged 31.4 points, 12.6 rebounds, 1.2 blocks and was even making 40 percent of his three-pointers.
Another part of McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy includes rostering Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell ($9,000 on DraftKings and $8,500 on FanDuel). Mitchell has been on a tear over his last three games since missing a game against the Clippers on March 18 (calf). During this recent run, he’s averaged 34.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and a steal per start.
The Jazz visit the Charlotte Hornets on Friday, which has been a favorable Fantasy matchup for just about every opposing star player this season. The Jazz have played the Hornets once already this season in December, and Mitchell scored 21 points to go with six rebounds and six assists. Utah is short on some of its scoring with Bojan Bogdanovic (calf) and Danuel House Jr. (knee) ruled out for the game, so Mitchell should be extra assertive looking for shots on Friday.
