Who’s Playing
Texas Tech @ Duke
Regular Season Records: Texas Tech 27-9; Duke 30-6
What to Know
The #9 Duke Blue Devils and the #12 Texas Tech Red Raiders are set to clash at 9:39 p.m. ET March 24 at Chase Center in the third round of the NCAA Tournament. Duke will be hoping to build upon the 69-58 win they picked up against the Red Raiders when they previously played in December of 2018.
The Michigan State Spartans typically have all the answers at home, but on Sunday the Blue Devils proved too difficult a challenge. Duke walked away with an 85-76 win. They got double-digit scores from five players: forward Paolo Banchero (19), forward Wendell Moore Jr. (15), center Mark Williams (15), guard Jeremy Roach (15), and guard Trevor Keels (12).
Meanwhile, Texas Tech earned some more postseason success in their contest on Sunday. They snuck past the Notre Dame Fighting Irish with a 59-53 victory. Texas Tech’s forward Kevin Obanor filled up the stat sheet, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 15 boards.
Duke is expected to win this handily, but they should have beaten the North Carolina Tar Heels March 5 easily too and instead slipped up with a 94-81. In other words, don’t count the Red Raiders out just yet.
