If you’re into streaming pitchers or simply have a hole to fill in your lineup, Scott White has 10 recommendations for the upcoming scoring period, all rostered in less than 80 percent of CBS Sports leagues. They’re no substitute for some of the universally rostered pitchers, of course, but they’re the best you’ll be able to do off the waiver wire.

Sleeper pitchers for Week 2 (April 11-17)
 SEA Seattle • #47 • Age: 23 It’ll be the first and second starts of his career, with imposing matchups to boot, but his arsenal is electric enough to consider throwing caution to the wind for the sake of an extra start. |
 NYM N.Y. Mets • #59 • Age: 35 He looked great in his first turn Sunday, and it looks more and more like last year’s struggles were a result of him pitching with loose bodies in his elbow. |
 PHI Philadelphia • #44 • Age: 34 He had one of the best first turns of any pitcher, striking out 10 over seven two-hit innings against the Athletics, and while there’s little reason to believe he’s a fundamentally changed pitcher, this matchup is nearly as favorable. |
 NYY N.Y. Yankees • #47 • Age: 29 The matchup doesn’t get any better for a pitcher who’s more reliable than he gets credit for. |
 ARI Arizona • #29 • Age: 33 He racked up a bunch of strikeouts with his revamped changeup in spring training, and the trend continued in his first regular season start against the Padres. |

NYY N.Y. Yankees • #65 • Age: 27 What he lacks in stuff he makes for in trickery — or at least he did in the second half last year. He’ll put it to the test against one of the best lineups and one of the worst. |
 STL St. Louis • #43 • Age: 27 He’s no bat-misser but excels at run prevention as one of the most extreme ground-ball pitchers. It makes him well worth using with matchups as favorable as these. |
 MIL Milwaukee • #37 • Age: 29 Another excellent ground-ball pitcher who excels at keeping runs off the board, Adrian Houser has sometimes struggled to work deep into games. But he did make it six in one of his spring starts, which is something few pitchers can say. |
 LAD L.A. Dodgers • #26 • Age: 27 Volume is the big concern for him going into his first season as surefire starter, but he should be built up enough to go five-plus innings in this, his second start. He got the whiffs we were looking for in his first start, abbreviated though it was. |

PHI Philadelphia • #56 • Age: 28 The Marlins, particularly in Miami, should make for a favorable matchup, and Zach Eflin has good enough secondaries to surprise with the strikeouts on occasion. |
