2023 college football Week 6 picks against the spread, betting odds, trends: Vegas insider reveals picks

The final Big 12 version of the Red River Showdown unfolds Saturday at noon ET as No. 12 Oklahoma and No. 3 Texas meet at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas in one of the biggest matchups on the Week 6 college football schedule. The rivalry will shift to the SEC next season and beyond when both teams make the move, but for this matchup, Texas is a 6.5-point favorite in the Week 6 college football odds via SportsLine consensus. Other Week 6 college football lines of note include No. 1 Georgia (-14.5) against No. 20 Kentucky, No. 23 LSU (-6.5) vs. Missouri, No. 10 Notre Dame (-6.5) against Louisville and No. 11 Alabama (-2.5) against Texas A&M.

It’s an extended slate this week with the action beginning on Wednesday, so where are the best values in the Week 6 college football lines? Before locking in any college football picks for Week 6 of the 2023 season, be sure to see the college football betting guide from legendary Vegas handicapper Bruce Marshall

Top college football predictions for Week 6

One of the top college football picks Marshall is recommending for Week 6: No. 20 Kentucky (+14.5) covers at top-ranked Georgia in a 7 p.m. ET SEC East matchup on Saturday.

There’s still a long way to go, but this could be a critical matchup in the SEC East race. Every other team in the division has at least one loss, so these undefeated teams have the inside track. Kentucky’s 4-0 start could easily have been attributed to a light schedule, but its convincing 33-14 victory against Florida in Week 5 turned some heads.

Georgia has held serve in a 5-0 start, but has been underperforming Vegas expectations, going 0-5 against the spread. The Bulldogs have fallen behind against both SEC opponents thus far and they likely won’t be able to do that and pick up a cover against the confident Wildcats. Both teams rank in the top 20 nationally in scoring defense as well, so Marshall likes Kentucky to cover and for the Under (48.5) to hit.

“Mark Stoops is 6-1 in last seven vs. spread as a regular-season underdog,” Marshall told SportsLine. “Kirby Smart is 0-5 vs. line to begin 2023.” See which other picks to make here
