Manchester United’s Amad Diallo has had a strong start to preseason so far, finding the back of the net against Real Betis but he’ll have a tougher challenge in facing Liverpool. It’s a new era under Arne Slot for the Reds and he’ll now get to face a rival while Liverpool continue their gauntlet of a tour. In the same week that they faced Arsenal, the Reds will now come up against Manchester United to help provide Slot with a Premier League indoctrination without the risk of dropped points.

Here’s our storylines, how you can watch the match and more:

Storylines

Manchester United: Injuries have caught up to the Red Devils and they’re back to square one searching for defenders in the transfer market after losing Leny Yoro for three months. Erik ten Hag likely needed a center back no matter what but losing a new signing before even seeing them play a league match hurts. The Jadon Sancho redemption tour will also continue as he looks to establish himself back into the lineup this season.

Liverpool: Harvey Elliott has been performing well as a number 10 pulling the strings for Slot, but repetition is the name of the game for Liverpool. The Reds have to get Slot’s passing progression down which can only be done by his side playing more together to understand his tactics. Diogo Jota is building fitness after returning from the Euros and Mohamed Salah is also in top form. Getting ready for the season to begin, Liverpool’s moving in the right direction.

Prediction

The points will be shared as both managers are more concerned with the process than the result of the match.  Pick: TManchester Untied 2, Liverpool 2
