CBS to air Serie A on broadcast TV for first time with AC Milan’s match at Parma on Aug. 24

AC Milan’s second game of the season at Parma, set for Saturday, Aug. 24, will air on CBS, marking the first time CBS will air Serie A on broadcast TV.

CBS’ broadcast of Parma’s game against Milan will take place live from Parma’s Stadio Ennio Tardini, with a pre-game show beginning at 11:30 a.m. ET that will air live on Paramount+. Coverage will shift to CBS at 12:30 p.m. ET, when the game is scheduled to kick off.

The broadcast slot marks Serie A’s high-profile return to U.S. audiences after the Italian top flight agreed a new multiplatform deal with CBS Sports earlier this summer. The agreement will see the widest distribution of Serie A matches ever in the U.S., including select matches on CBS. In total, more than 400 matches from Italy will be available in the U.S. via Paramount+, CBS Sports Network and CBS Sports Golazo Network as well as CBS.

Serie A kicks off this weekend as some of the world’s biggest cups battle for the Scudetto, and you can catch the action all season long on Paramount+CBS Sports Golazo Network and CBS Sports Network.

Parma’s clash with Milan is an intriguing selection for U.S. audiences since the visiting team features U.S. men’s national team members Christian Pulisic and Yunus Musah. Pulisic enjoyed a career-best club season with Milan last season, his first in Italy, with 16 goals and 10 assists. He will likely play a big part for the team again in the 2024-25 season, during which the team will aim to improve upon last campaign’s second-place finish. Pulisic, alongside fellow prolific attacker Rafael Leao, will be one of the constants for Milan as new head coach Paulo Fonseca and new striker Alvaro Morata settle into the club.

The home team, meanwhile, have their own U.S. connection. Parma are owned by Krause Group, owners of the USA-based convenience store Kum & Go after they took over the club in 2020.

Milan’s trip to Parma will be part of a jam-packed day of soccer on CBS. At the conclusion of the Serie A match, CBS will air an NWSL doubleheader, with NJ/NY Gotham FC hosting the Portland Thorns before the San Diego Wave welcome Angel City.

All 380 Serie A matches this season will be available across CBS Sports’ platforms, while a majority of Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana fixtures will also air on the platforms.

The 2024-25 Serie A season begins on Saturday, with Genoa welcoming reigning champions Inter. The opening match of the season will air on CBS Sports Network and Paramount+ at 12:30 p.m. ET.
