UEFA Europa League 2024-25 draw results: Jose Mourinho returns to Manchester United with Fenerbahce

UEFA Europa League 2024-25 draw results: Jose Mourinho returns to Manchester United with Fenerbahce

The UEFA Europa League 2024-25 draw has been made with the league phase throwing up a return for Jose Mourinho as Fenerbahce boss. The Red Devils have also landed on UEFA Champions League regulars FC Porto with both of those testing fixtures due to be played away from home.

Elsewhere, two of Mourinho’s former clubs — AS Roma and Tottenham Hotspur — drew each other with the Italians also getting recent winners Eintracht Frankfurt. Spurs got Rangers and Galatasaray away in tricky games for Ange Postecoglou’s men while the Scottish giants received arguably the toughest draw with United, Olympique Lyonnais and defending UEFA Conference League champions Olympiacos in the mix.

The current titleholders were in Pot Two and also got Porto, Braga, Lyon and Twente as the Greeks prepare to chase a Europa League title after their Conference triumph. As for Mourinho, his Fenerbahce side will travel to face Slavia Praha, AZ and Twente while hosting United, Lyon and Union SG as well as Athletic Club.
