AP Top 25 poll: Texas, Clemson drop as Colorado enters latest college football rankings

AP Top 25 poll: Texas, Clemson drop as Colorado enters latest college football rankings
USATSI

Given the lack of surprises this weekend, it wasn’t likely we’d see major changes in the AP Top 25, but there were some significant shakeups in the top 10. The biggest change was Texas A&M climbing from No. 14 to No. 10 after knocking off LSU Saturday night, but don’t worry, Notre Dame fans, that win over the Aggies still matters. The Irish moved up four spots themselves, climbing to No. 8 following a blowout win over Navy.

And those weren’t the only changes in the top 10. BYU moved up to No. 9 with Clemson and Iowa State both dropping to No. 11 while on a bye. As for LSU, the Tigers fell eight spots to No. 16.

Another significant change took place in the top five. Texas beat a ranked Vanderbilt team 27-24 in Nashville, and it seems the game was too close for some voters. Miami, which smacked Florida State 36-14, leapfrogged the Longhorns to climg into the top five.

Here are the rankings in their entirety. First-place votes are in parenthesis.
