Former Kansas State star and No. 2 NBA draft pick, Michael Beasley, has already made his presence felt in his debut BIG3 season. Beasley, who was offered a seven-figure deal by a Chinese basketball team, decided instead to take his talents to the 3-on-3 league and he dropped 26 points in his first game. His team, 3’s Company (1-0) will take on Tri-State as part of the BIG3 Week 2 schedule, and the latter is captained by two-time dunk champion, Jason Richardson. You can stream Saturday’s action on Paramount+.
Three games will take place on Saturday with play beginning at 1 p.m. ET in Chicago. The day’s other games feature Aliens (1-0) vs. Triplets (1-0) in the week’s only matchup of undefeated teams, and Ghost Ballers (1-0) facing the Ball Hogs (0-1). BIG3 predictions, picks for Saturday, June 25
Before tuning into Saturday’s BIG3 action, you need to see the BIG3 basketball picks from SportsLine expert Ameer Tyree. Tyree joined SportsLine after working as an NBA Fantasy sports and betting specialist at DraftKings and has a history of profitable basketball plays that help bettors find edges.
For Saturday’s BIG3 action, Tyree is backing the Ghost Ballers to defeat the Ball Hogs. The Ghost Ballers held on for a 3-point win over 3 Headed Monsters in Week 1, despite the latter getting a combined 46 points from Kevin Murphy and Rashard Lewis. Fortunately, the Ball Hogs have no one with the offensive potency of either of those players as the squad scored a league-low 33 points in the opening week.
The Ball Hogs were dreadful from beyond the arc, knocking down just 2 of 13 3-point attempts. Just as the NBA is called a make or miss league, the same goes for the BIG3 and the Ghost Ballers are loaded with marksmen. They made seven 3-pointers in Week 1, which is tied for the most in the league, with four different players converting from deep.
The Ghost Ballers aren’t just prolific from beyond the arc as they have a multi-dimensional offense and can score in the paint. Chris Johnson and Darnell Jackson supply their interior scoring, with Johnson also tied for the league lead in blocked shots. The 6-foot-11 Johnson’s ability to own the paint will further hinder the Ball Hogs offense, which is a big reason why Tyree backs the Ghost Ballers.
