Combate Global picks, live stream, how to watch, fight card: MMA insider makes Bravo vs. Whitney predictions

Combate Global is back with another exciting seven-fight card in Miami on Friday that can be streamed on Paramount+. The Combate Global fight card on Sept. 17 will be headlined by former UFC fighter and TUF 3: Latin America winner Martin Bravo, who is making his debut with the promotion against Andrew Whitney. Bravo represented Forrest Griffin’s team against Chuck Liddell on “The Ultimate Fighter” and beat Claudio Puelles with a second-round knockout in the finale that season to earn his UFC contract.

The four-fight UFC veteran will have his work cut out against the 37-year-old Whitney, a former Titan FC fighter who counts seven knockouts and five submissions among his 16 career victories. The main Combate fight card will also feature David Solorzano (3-0) vs. Ramon Vizcarra (3-2) and Maritza Sanchez (1-1) vs. Elizabeth Schroder (1-1). The Combate Global fight card begins at 10:30 p.m. ET and can be streamed on Paramount+ with their must-have Premium plan

Combate Global picks for Sept. 17 fight card in Miami

Before tuning into Friday’s fight card, you need to see the picks from SportsLine’s MMA insider Andrew Gombas. With more than 1,200 selections tracked by the third-party monitoring service Bet MMA, Gombas has shown a 10 percent return on investment for his followers. In 2020, $100 bettors who tailed his picks were up $9,200.

For the Combate Global fight card on Sept. 17, Gombas is backing Bravo to pick up the win against Whitney in the main event.

Bravo didn’t find the success he was hoping for in the UFC, but that doesn’t diminish the fact that he had an 11-bout winning streak before his current skid. Whitney, meanwhile, hasn’t found much success in recent years. A string of losses and cancelled fights leave him with just two professional victories since 2016.

“Martin Bravo will be looking to get back on track in Combate after suffering three straight defeats in the UFC,” Gombas told SportsLine. “He is taking on Andrew Whitney, who is also on a three-fight skid. Bravo is 10 years younger and has faced better competition. I like him to get it done wherever the fight goes.”
