MLB DFS: Top DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy baseball picks, strategy, advice for September 28, 2021

MLB DFS: Top DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy baseball picks, strategy, advice for September 28, 2021

The St. Louis Cardinals enter play on Tuesday with a 16-game winning streak, the third-longest since 1961. A big reason for the team’s surge has been the play of its stars, Nolan Arenado and Paul Goldschmidt. They’ve combined for 11 home runs during the streak and will be highly coveted MLB DFS picks as the Cards go for No. 17 versus the Brewers.

But what other Cardinals are worth rostering in your MLB DFS lineups against Brewers ace Brandon Woodruff (9-10, 2.52)? Should you consider someone like Tyler O’Neill considering his success against the righty as O’Neill has three home runs in 11 at-bats vs. Woodruff? Or is there someone deeper in the MLB DFS player pool who could return great value on Tuesday? Before submitting any MLB DFS picks, be sure to check out the MLB DFS advice, strategy and projections from SportsLine daily Fantasy expert Mike McClure

McClure is a daily Fantasy pro who has won almost $2 million in his career. And when it comes to daily Fantasy baseball, McClure is at his best. Recognized in the book “Fantasy Football (and Baseball) for Smart People: How to Turn Your Hobby into a Fortune” as a top MLB DFS player, McClure’s proprietary projection model simulates each game 10,000 times, taking factors such as matchups and recent results into account. This allows him to find the best values on every site.

On Monday, McClure had Rockies third baseman Ryan McMahon as part of his player pool for DraftKings and FanDuel. The result: McMahon reached base twice, hit a double and had three RBI to score 18 points on DraftKings and 25.5 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

Now, with the 2021 MLB season nearing its conclusion, McClure has locked in his top MLB daily Fantasy picks for Tuesday. Head to SportsLine now to see them

McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for September 28, 2021

One of McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Tuesday is Red Sox outfielder J.D. Martinez at $4,000 on FanDuel and $4,100 on DraftKings. The veteran is having another stellar season at the plate with 27 home runs and 96 RBI. He’s on pace to reach 100 RBI for the fourth time in five years, with only the pandemic-shortened 2020 season preventing him from going for his fifth straight.

Martinez has lit up the Orioles this season so he is eagerly looking forward to the series versus Baltimore starting tonight. He has a .404/.452/.877 split against the Orioles with seven home runs and 16 RBI. That’s more than twice as many homers as he has against any other team and he’s averaging over one RBI per game against Baltimore. He should have similar success on Tuesday, so you can see why McClure is high on him.

Another key in McClure’s optimal MLB DFS strategy includes stacking Martinez with outfielder Hunter Renfroe ($3,600 on FanDuel, $4,200 on DraftKings). Renfroe is on an eight-game hitting streak with extra-base hits in five of those games. He’s also scored eight runs and driven in six runs during this stretch.

For the season, Renfroe has 28 home runs and 91 RBI in his first year in Boston. He has an advantageous matchup on Tuesday against LHP Bruce Zimmermann (4-4, 5.13) as Renfroe has battered southpaws. The 29-year-old has an OPS that’s 120 points higher against lefties than righties which spells bad news for Zimmermann. With the recent stretch he’s been on, as well as his success against southpaws, Renfroe is a must-start for Tuesday’s MLB DFS lineups.

McClure is also targeting an undervalued player who is set to explode for huge numbers on Tuesday. The stars are aligning for him to return tournament-winning value and he comes at a price that won’t break the bank. You can only see who it is here.
