The Baltimore Ravens have been decimated by injuries on the offensive side of the ball, but they are getting back some help entering Week 4. On Wednesday, the Ravens designated wide receivers Rashod Bateman and Miles Boykin for return from injured reserve, and they will take to the practice field as Baltimore prepares for the undefeated Denver Broncos.
Head coach John Harbaugh noted that it’s not guaranteed both will suit up Sunday, but they will get the opportunity on the practice field to prove they are ready.
“They’re both going to come back and practice and we’ll see where that takes us,” Harbaugh said earlier this week.
Bateman, who was selected with the No. 27 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Minnesota, suffered a groin injury in training camp that required surgery. An All-Big Ten player who caught 60 passes for 1,219 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2019, he is a receiver many believe can make an immediate impact for this offense. Boykin, on the other hand, suffered a hamstring injury last month. The third-year wideout out of Notre Dame caught 19 passes for 266 yards and four touchdowns in 2020.
This is a welcomed development, especially considering that Baltimore’s top receiver, Marquise Brown, dropped three would-be touchdowns during its 19-17 victory over the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
