Follow the Road to the Final Four all month long with an updating bracket and TV schedule
Elite Eight action continues on Sunday with two marquee matchups that will decide who gets the final two tickets to the Final Four next weekend in Glendale, Arizona. The opening game features a rematch of the Maui Invitational semifinals when No. 1 seed Purdue faces No. 2 seed Tennessee in the Midwest Regional final in Detroit.
The Boilermakers are coming off an impressive 80-68 win over Gonzaga in the Sweet 16, while the Volunteers survived a late surge from Creighton in an 82-75 win. Purdue is seeking its first Final Four appearance since 1980. Tennessee has never reached the final weekend of the NCAA Tournament.
The final game of the Elite Eight will be an all-ACC showdown when No. 4 seed Duke meets No. 11 NC State in the South Regional final. The Blue Devils are seeking their second Final Four appearance in the last three years, while NC State hasn’t been since 1986.
Duke knocked off No. 1 seed Houston 54-51 in a defensive slugfest. The Cougars saw their top player Jamal Shead exit with 6:38 remaining in the first half because of a severe ankle injury. No. 11 seed NC State — the final double-digit seed remaining — advanced with a 67-58 win over No. 2 seed Marquette.
