Who’s Playing

Arizona @ Los Angeles

Current Records: Arizona 3-0; Los Angeles 3-0

What to Know

The Los Angeles Rams are 9-1 against the Arizona Cardinals since October of 2016, and they’ll have a chance to extend that success next Sunday. Los Angeles and Arizona will face off in an NFC West battle at 4:05 p.m. ET at SoFi Stadium. The Rams won both of their matches against Arizona last season (38-28 and 18-7) and are aiming for the same result this time around.

Los Angeles had a touchdown and change to spare in a 34-24 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. Los Angeles QB Matthew Stafford was slinging it as he passed for four TDs and 343 yards on 38 attempts. Stafford’s 75-yard touchdown toss down the right side of the field to WR DeSean Jackson in the third quarter made for one of the most memorable moments of the evening.

Meanwhile, Arizona picked up a 31-19 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. The Cardinals’ RB James Conner filled up the stat sheet, punching in two rushing touchdowns. Conner had some trouble finding his footing against the Minnesota Vikings last week, so this was a step in the right direction.

Arizona’s defense was a presence as well, as it collected two interceptions and two fumbles. CB Byron Murphy picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown.

The wins brought both teams up to an identical 3-0. A couple offensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: The Rams rank second in the league when it comes to passing touchdowns, with nine on the season. The Cardinals have displayed some offensive firepower of their own as they enter the matchup with 12 overall offensive touchdowns, good for second best in the NFL.
