MLB DFS: Top DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy baseball picks, strategy for Oct. 7, 2021

MLB DFS: Top DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy baseball picks, strategy for Oct. 7, 2021

The Chicago White Sox have had one of the most potent offensive lineups all season and have been heavily targeted by 2021 MLB DFS players. Chicago opens up the American League Divisional Playoffs against Houston and probable starter Lance McCullers Jr. The Astros pitcher has fared pretty well against the White Sox as Chicago has hit a collective .237 against him.

Chicago’s probable starter, Lance Lynn, only made it through four innings in his only meeting with the Astros this season and gave up six earned runs. Should you target Chicago’s steady hitters in a tough matchup, or take a closer look at Houston players that had Lynn’s number earlier this year? Before making any final MLB DFS picks for Thursday’s MLB Playoff matchups, be sure to check out check out the MLB DFS advice, strategy and projections from SportsLine daily Fantasy expert Mike McClure.

McClure is a daily Fantasy pro who has won almost $2 million in his career. And when it comes to daily Fantasy baseball, McClure is at his best. Recognized in the book “Fantasy Football (and Baseball) for Smart People: How to Turn Your Hobby into a Fortune” as a top MLB DFS player, McClure’s proprietary projection model simulates each game 10,000 times, taking factors such as matchups and recent results into account. This allows him to find the best values on every site.

On Wednesday, McClure listed Cardinals second baseman Tommy Edman among his top MLB DFS picks on FanDuel and DraftKings. The result: Edman went 3-for-5 with a run and two stolen bases, which returned 21 points on DraftKings and 24.2 on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

Now, with the 2021 MLB playoffs shifting to divisional playoff games on Thursday, Oct. 7, McClure has locked in his top MLB daily Fantasy picks. Head to SportsLine now to see them

McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Thursday, October 7

One of McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Thursday is White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson, who is listed at $3,600 on FanDuel and $5,100 on DraftKings. Anderson has two at bats against McCullers, one of which was a triple. He finished the final month of the regular season on a high note, with his highest batting average of the year (.359) and three home runs in 15 games.

To the extent that hitters have had success against McCullers Jr. this season, those that have fared best have been in the leadoff spot. McCullers Jr. has given up more doubles (six) to leadoff hitters than any other spot in opposing lineups, and Anderson was third on the White Sox in the regular season with 29 two-baggers. Anderson also has batting splits of .340/.369/.513 in day games, so today’s afternoon start should suit him well.

Another key in McClure’s optimal MLB DFS strategy includes stacking Anderson with White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez ($3,000 on FanDuel, $3,600 on DraftKings). Jimenez is looking for a return to the form that he showed last week against Detroit, when he went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI on September 27.

Thursday will be the first meeting between Jimenez and McCullers Jr., and the Chicago outfielder has been steady over the last week. In his last six games, he’s scored three runs and has six hits with a home run. Jimenez has been a much better hitter on the road than at home and has had his greatest success against finesse RHPs, which describes McCullers who heavily favors his breaking ball pitches.
