Kenny Golladay’s knee injury is expected to keep him out of the Giants‘ upcoming game against the Rams, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. While the receiver’s injury may keep him out for multiple weeks, the Giants initially feared that their key offseason addition had sustained a major injury, per Rapoport.
Golladay sustained the injury during this past Sunday’s 44-20 loss to the Cowboys. Along with Golladay, quarterback Daniel Jones left the game after a helmet-to-helmet hit and has entered the league’s concussion protocol. Running back Saquon Barkley was carted off with an ankle injury and is reportedly week to week. Along with that trio, rookie wideout Kadarius Toney was ejected after throwing a punch at a Cowboys’ defender with just over six minutes remaining.
Golladay did not catch any of his three targets prior to sustaining the injury. The former Lion was coming off of his best game as a Giant, as he caught six of seven targets for 116 yards in New York’s 27-21 overtime road win against the Saints. He currently paces the Giants with 282 receiving yards on 17 receptions.
The Giants are surely hoping that receivers Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton will be able to suit up on Sunday after the Cowboys game. Both players were sidelined with hamstring injuries.
