The legend of Lamar Jackson continues to grow. The star quarterback led the Baltimore Ravens back from a 16-point, fourth-quarter deficit, engineering three consecutive touchdown drives (two of which included two-point conversions) to secure his team a 31-25 overtime victory over the Indianapolis Colts.
Along the way, Jackson completed 37 of 43 passes for 442 yards and four touchdowns. (He added six carries for 30 yards for good measure.) If that sounds like a really, really good stat line to you: good. It is.
The 442 passing yards set a Baltimore Ravens record for a single game. Jackson became the first player in history to throw for 400 yards and four touchdowns while completing at least 85 percent of his throws, while his 86 percent completion rate was the highest of all time for a player who threw for at least 400 yards. The 86 percent mark was also the highest among the 4,017 games in which a player attempted at least 40 passes.
Jackson primarily got his yards (and got all of his scores) by repeatedly targeting his two top weapons: Mark Andrews and Marquise Brown. Jackson found seven other receivers with at least two passes, but Andrews and Brown accounted for 272 of the 442 yards through the air.
Andrews had his best game of the season, catching 11 of 13 passes thrown his way for 147 yards and two touchdowns — the two the Ravens needed to tie the game in the fourth quarter. Brown hauled in 9 of 10 targets for 125 yards and two scores of his own, including the game-winner in overtime.
