The Arizona Cardinals may be without one of their top pass rushers this week as Chandler Jones was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday. While Jones’ Week 6 status for Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns is up in the air, there is an opportunity he can play.

Jones is vaccinated, per Chuck Harris of USA Today, so he could play if he tests negative twice 24 hours apart by Saturday. If Jones clears that protocol, he will be able to play in Sunday’s game. Jones has five sacks on the year, even though all have come in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans. He’s still getting to the quarterback, recording 14 quarterback hits and two forced fumbles in five games this season. Jones also has 18 pressures on the year.

Jones and JJ Watt have formed a lethal combination for the Cardinals. Watt has yet to record a sack, but he has 23 pressures and six quarterback hits on the year. If Jones has to miss Sunday’s game, the Cardinals will turn to Markus Golden and Devon Kennard to fill the void on the pass rush.

Jones is the 18th Cardinals player to test positive for COVID-19 since camp opened in July. Tight end Darrell Daniels, who has been on the COVID list twice, was activated from the list Tuesday.
