2024 college football Week 2 picks against the spread, odds, betting lines, trends: Vegas expert reveals picks

2024 college football Week 2 picks against the spread, odds, betting lines, trends: Vegas expert reveals picks

It’s been an eventful couple weeks for the ACC already with Florida State getting upset twice as a double-digit favorite, Clemson going down hard to Georgia and Virginia Tech getting stunned by Vanderbilt. Miami, however, was one of the Week 1 standouts, blowing out in-state rival Florida 41-17. The Week 2 college football schedule features two ACC teams playing non-conference games on Friday as SMU takes on BYU and Duke travels to Northwestern.

The latest Week 2 college football odds list the Mustangs at -11.5 and the Wildcats at -2.5 in those matchups, respectively. The small Friday slate sets the stage for a massive showdown on Saturday when No. 3 Texas (-7.5) travels to No. 9 Michigan in a battle of playoff teams from last year. No. 24 NC State and No. 14 Tennessee (-8), meanwhile, will meet in Charlotte in the day’s other matchup of ranked teams. Before locking in any Week 2 college football picks, be sure to see the college football betting guide from legendary Vegas handicapper Bruce Marshall

Top college football predictions for Week 2

One of the top college football picks Marshall is recommending for Week 2: He’s backing Arkansas (+7.5) against Oklahoma State in a noon ET kickoff Saturday at Boone Pickens Stadium.

Both teams won and covered large spreads in Week 1, but Marshall has zoomed out and noted that Arkansas has been a great team to back as an underdog under head coach Sam Pittman. Going back to 2020, the Razorbacks are on a 17-9 run as underdogs against the spread.

Arkansas also has a habit of keeping games competitive. Even during its six-game losing streak last year, five of those losses were by one score. Marshall has noted those trends and he likes Arkansas to stay within the number in a game that goes over the total (62). See which other picks to make here
