We’re six weeks into the college football season, and my first mock draft of the 2025 NFL Draft cycle was published back in August. Some things have changed in version 2.0, mostly with the No. 1 overall pick (not a quarterback!) and the order the quarterbacks end up coming off the board.
All told, six quarterbacks go in Round 1 (that feels high, but six went in the first 12 picks back in the spring), and a team trades back into the top 32 to grab one of them. Meanwhile, five offensive tackles and edge rushers hear their name called, but only three (and a half) wideouts. And the last time a running back went this high? The 2018 draft, when the Giants took Saquon Barkley No. 2 overall.
By the way: the draft order is via Tankathon through all the Week 5 games except “Monday Night Football.”
