Enrique Hernandez is affectionately known as Kike by his teammates and fans, and an already legendary performance has made “Kike” a household name in the 2021 MLB playoffs. MLB daily Fantasy players who have been riding Hernandez in their MLB DFS lineups this postseason have been treated to an absurd .500/.500/1.071 slash line with four home runs and eight RBIs. So how long can you ride his hot hand as the Red Sox take on the Astros in Game 2 of the ALCS on Saturday at 4:20 p.m. ET?
Meanwhile, the NLCS will get underway on Saturday as well with the Dodgers visiting the Braves for Game 1 at 8:08 p.m. ET . So who from that game should you be targeting, and where can you find value in the MLB DFS player pool with all four remaining teams in action? Before finalizing your MLB DFS picks for Saturday, be sure to check out the MLB DFS advice, strategy and projections from SportsLine daily Fantasy expert Mike McClure.
McClure is a daily Fantasy pro who has won almost $2 million in his career. And when it comes to daily Fantasy baseball, McClure is at his best. Recognized in the book “Fantasy Football (and Baseball) for Smart People: How to Turn Your Hobby into a Fortune” as a top MLB DFS player, McClure’s proprietary projection model simulates each game 10,000 times, taking factors such as matchups and recent results into account. This allows him to find the best values on every site.
On Friday, McClure listed Hernandez among his top MLB DFS picks on FanDuel and DraftKings. The result: Hernandez went 4-for-5 with two home runs, two RBIs and two runs scored, returning 36 points on DraftKings and 46.4 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Saturday, October 16
One of McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Saturday is Dodgers second baseman Trea Turner, who is listed at $3,700 on FanDuel and $5,300 on DraftKings. There were few players in Major League Baseball who were hotter than Turner at the end of the regular season, as he slashed .464/.500/1.000 with four homers and 12 RBIs in the final seven games.
However, that hasn’t yet translated to the postseason as Turner has a .462 OPS entering Game 1 of the 2021 NLCS. However, Turner is a bonafide star who almost always produces over time, and a .238 BABIP this postseason gives some reason to expect positive regression the rest of the way. Turner is 7-for-21 lifetime off Braves starter Max Fried and he has taken him deep once, making him a great choice for MLB DFS lineups that other daily Fantasy players might miss.
Another key to McClure’s optimal MLB DFS strategy includes rostering Astros designated hitter Yordan Alvarez ($3,300 on FanDuel and $4,200 on DraftKings). Alvarez saw his walk rate drop a bit from his sensational rookie season in 2019 after missing most of the 2020 season, but the power numbers were still there.
His average exit velocity actually climbed from 92.8 mph to 93.0 and his hard-hit contact rate actually climbed from 53.2 percent to 54.2 percent. Alvarez wound up finishing with 33 home runs and 104 RBIs and had a solid .877 OPS that has only climbed during the 2021 MLB playoffs. Alvarez enters Saturday with a 1.048 OPS this postseason and he’s 2-for-2 lifetime off Red Sox starter Nathan Eovaldi.
