Who’s Playing
Los Angeles @ Baltimore
Current Records: Los Angeles 4-1; Baltimore 4-1
What to Know
After a two-game homestand, the Los Angeles Chargers will be on the road. They will square off against the Baltimore Ravens at 1 p.m. ET next Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium. The defensive coordinators will surely put in extra hours ahead of this contest since these teams’ offenses combined for 1,016 yards this week.
On Sunday, the Chargers’ offense rose to the challenge against a Cleveland defense that boasted an average of only 16.75 points allowed. They got past the Cleveland Browns with less than a touchdown to spare, ending up at 47-42. QB Justin Herbert had a stellar game for Los Angeles as he passed for four TDs and 398 yards on 43 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown. Near the top of the highlight reel was Herbert’s 72-yard TD bomb to WR Mike Williams in the second quarter.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Baltimore ultimately got the result they were hoping for on Monday with a 31-25 win over the Indianapolis Colts. The victory came about thanks to a strong surge after the third quarter to overcome a 22-9 deficit. The Ravens’ QB Lamar Jackson was on fire, passing for four TDs and 442 yards on 43 attempts in addition to picking up 62 yards on the ground.
The Chargers didn’t have too much breathing room in their game with Baltimore when the teams previously met three seasons ago, but they still walked away with a 23-17 win. Los Angeles’ victory shoved Baltimore out of the playoffs, so they have a target on their back.
