2021 Wimbledon odds, men’s final predictions: Tennis expert reveals Djokovic vs. Berrettini picks

2021 Wimbledon odds, men’s final predictions: Tennis expert reveals Djokovic vs. Berrettini picks

Matteo Berrettini can become the first Italian man in 45 years to win a grand slam singles title when he faces world No. 1 Novak Djokovic in the 2021 Wimbledon men’s singles final on Sunday at The All England Lawn Tennis Club. The 25-year-old Berrettini, who is playing in his first grand slam title, is looking to end the Italians’ grand slam drought, which started after Adriano Panatta won the 1976 French Open. At the same time, Djokovic is looking to make history himself and join Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal with 20 career singles titles, the most all-time.

The match is set to start at 9 a.m. ET. William Hill Sportsbook lists Djokovic as a -550 favorite (risk $550 to win $100) in the latest Djokovic vs. Berrettini odds, with Berrettini listed at +425 as the underdog. You can also pick whether Djokovic will cover the 5.5-game spread and how many games the match will last, among other wagering options in the 2021 Wimbledon odds. Before finalizing any Berrettini vs. Djokovic picks, you need to see the Wimbledon 2021 predictions from SportsLine tennis handicapper Sean Calvert.

Calvert is the renowned handicapper who called Stan Wawrinka winning the 2014 Australian Open at 60-1, the last Australian title won by someone other than Djokovic or Roger Federer. In 2019, Calvert took down a huge score on Dominic Thiem winning Indian Wells at 80-1. Anyone following his picks is way up.

Now, Calvert has scrutinized the latest Wimbledon 2021 odds and released his coveted best bets for Djokovic vs. Berrettini. He’s sharing his expert Wimbledon 2021 picks and analysis only at SportsLine.

Novak Djokovic vs. Matteo Berrettini preview

Djokovic enters the final on a roll. The Serb has won 17 straight matches, a streak that includes his historic victory at Roland Garros, where he became the first man in the Open Era to win all four major titles twice. He has been even tougher on grass, winning 20 straight matches. His last loss on the surface came in the 2018 Queen’s Club final to Marin Cilic.

And Djokovic has shown little weakness so far at Wimbledon 2021. Through six matches he has dropped only one set. That came in the opening set of his opening match; he has won 18 straight sets since and has been pushed to a tiebreaker just twice.

But to win No. 20, Djokovic will have to defeat Berrettini, whom Djokovic described as “one of the best players in the world in the last 12 months” on Friday. After an abdominal injury kept Berrettini out of action at the start of the year, he has found his form, winning 11 straight matches, all on the grass. In fact since 2019, he is 22-2 on grass with one of those losses coming to Federer.

Much of his success can be attributed to his big serve. Standing at 6-foot-5, Berrettini has won 151 of 158 service games on grass this year. He entered Wimbledon 2021 having won 79.6 percent of his first serves this year, which is the third best in the world.

How to make Djokovic vs. Berrettini picks

Calvert is leaning over 37.5 total games, but he has two other wagers, both that would pay plus-money. Be sure to see Calvert’s picks and analysis before making your Wimbledon 2021 picks for the men’s final.
