Through 3 Quarters
We’ve seen some fireworks three quarters in as the Charlotte Hornets and the Boston Celtics have combined for 196 points. Either team is in a position to win, but Charlotte leads 99-97. Small forward Miles Bridges has led the way so far for the Hornets, as he has 21 points in addition to eight boards.
Charlotte and Boston came into this matchup with previous-game wins. It’s looking like Charlotte will be able to keep the momentum, but Boston still has a quarter to right the ship.

What to Know
The Boston Celtics are 16-4 against the Charlotte Hornets since December of 2015, and they’ll have a chance to extend that success Monday. They will face off at 7 p.m. ET Oct. 25 at Spectrum Center without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The contest is expected to be a close one, with Boston going off at just a 1.5-point favorite.
The Celtics beat the Houston Rockets 107-97 on Sunday. Small forward Jayson Tatum was the offensive standout of the game for Boston, picking up 31 points along with nine boards.
Meanwhile, Charlotte strolled past the Brooklyn Nets with points to spare on Sunday, taking the matchup 111-95. Charlotte can attribute much of their success to small forward Miles Bridges, who had 32 points in addition to nine rebounds.
Boston is now 1-2 while the Hornets sit at 3-0. Two numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: The Celtics have allowed their opponents an average of 10.7 steals per game, the third most in the league. To make matters even worse for Boston, Charlotte enters the game with 10.67 steals per game on average, good for third best in the league. In other words, Boston will need to work extra hard to take care of the ball.
