Alvarez lead’s McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Game 3 again, and is listed at $9,500 on FanDuel and $12,900 on DraftKings. Alvarez scored in Game 2 after a sixth inning walk, but came into the on a hot streak, with nine hits, three doubles, and five RBI in the three games prior.
Two of Anderson’s main pitches, his fastball and cutter, were pitches that Alvarez hit particularly well in 2021. Against fastballs, he hit .285 with an exit velocity of 95 mph or higher 58 percent of the time. Against cutters he was even better, and hit .471 with a .882 slugging percentage. Considering that he has yet to face Anderson in his career, it helps that he is comfortable swinging away at the pitches he’ll be seeing early in the game.
Another key in McClure’s optimal MLB DFS strategy also includes rostering Atlanta Braves outfielder Eddie Rosario ($7,000 on FanDuel and $10,800 on DraftKings). Rosario was hitless in Atlanta’s Game 2 loss to the Astros, but opened the World Series with two hits in Game 1. Those that hit at the top of the order had batting splits of .311/.393/.527 against him in 2021. As a leadoff hitter in the final two games of the NLDS, Rosario had four hits, a home run and three RBI.
