Another round of Serie A fixtures is almost over with just Bologna and Cagliari left to play on Monday and most of the big guns got the results expected of them this weekend with Zlatan Ibrahimovic hitting the landmark of 400 goals.

We look back on Sunday’s action.

Salernitana 0, Napoli 1

Piotr Zielinski scored the only goal of the game to keep Luciano Spalletti’s men clear at the Serie A summit alongside AC Milan. The Poland international’s second half strike was enough as Grigoris Kastanos and Kalidou Koulibaly both saw red as it finished 10 aside and the seven-point gap to Inter in third remains.

Roma 1, AC Milan 2

Ibrahimovic and Franck Kessie did the damage for Milan with the Swede now on 400 career league goals as Theo Hernandez saw red. Stephan El Shaarawy pulled one back late on for Roma, but it was not enough and Jose Mourinho’s men could not stop the Rossoneri from ploughing further ahead with Napoli.

Inter Milan 2, Udinese 0

Joaquin Correa struck twice to ensure that champions Inter remain third although they are seven points down on the leading pair but also five points clear of Roma in fourth to illustrate the gap between the title challengers this term.

Fiorentina 3, Spezia 0

Dusan Vlahovic made the headlines with an impressive hat-trick as Fiorentina moved up to seventh after Juventus’ loss earlier this weekend. The Serb was lethal with two second half strikes to add to his first half penalty opener for Vincenzo Italiano’s side.

Sassuolo 1, Empoli 2

A late Empoli recovery saw them snatch all three points against Sassuolo with Andrea Pinamonti and Szymon Zurkowski on target in the final 10 minutes to overturn Lorenzo Tonelli’s own goal.

Genoa 0, Venezia 0

There was also a bore draw between struggling pair Genoa and Venezia which actually presents Cagliari with the chance to leap out of the relegation zone if they can beat Bologna on Monday.
