Last season, the Washington Wizards lost five games before winning their first, but in 2021, they are already out to a 5-3 start. Much of their success has been due to the addition of center Montrezl Harrell, who has scored 20 points or more in four of the team’s eight games. With the Lakers in 2020-21, he only had 12 such games for the entire season. On Friday, the Wizards host the Memphis Grizzlies, who are tied with Houston for allowing the ninth-most points in the paint per game this season with 47.8.
Harrell has only started twice this season, but has given starter-level production, particularly recently. He has a double-double in four of his last five games and seven blocks during that span. Is Harrell a reliable piece in your NBA DFS lineups on Friday? The Grizzlies are also one of the most frequently blocked offenses in the league this season at six times per game. On Thursday, McClure listed Pistons rookie Cade Cunningham as one of his top picks on both sites. The result: Cunningham had his best game to date with 18 points, 10 rebounds and four assists to return 36 points on FanDuel and 39 points on DraftKings. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

Top NBA DFS picks for Friday, November 5
Leading McClure’s top NBA DFS picks for Friday is Milwaukee superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo ($11,800 on DraftKings, $11,300 on FanDuel). The reigning NBA Finals MVP has been off to a torrid start again this season and is coming off of a huge performance in his last game against Detroit on Tuesday night.
Besides the 28 points he dropped on the Pistons, Antetokounmpo had four blocks, nine assists and eight rebounds. In six of his eight games this season, he’s had two or more blocks, and he’s had double-digit rebounding totals five times. Milwaukee hosts the Knicks on Friday, and in two games against New York last season, Antetokounmpo made 63 percent of his field-goal attempts and averaged 25.5 points per game. The Knicks give up the sixth-most fast-break points per game, and Antetokounmpo leads the NBA in transition points per game with 8.9.
Another key in McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy includes rostering Minnesota guard Patrick Beverley ($4,000 on DraftKings, $5,000 on FanDuel). Beverley had a double-double of his own on Wednesday night against his former team, the Los Angeles Clippers. With D’Angelo Russell confirmed to be out of the lineup when the Timberwolves face the Clips again on Friday, Beverley should be in starting lineup again and take advantage of an expanded role.
Up until Wednesday, Beverley had been in-and-out of Minnesota’s rotation. But in three of the five games that he’s played, he’s made 60 percent or more of his field-goal attempts. The Clippers have allowed opponents to hit over 46 percent of their field-goal attempts while on the road, and Beverley also stacked up Fantasy points in his last game with eight assists. As a bargain plug-and-play option, Beverley should get the start again tonight and offers big upside at his price point.
