What to Know
The Cleveland Cavaliers will head out on the road to face off against the New York Knicks at 6 p.m. ET Sunday at Madison Square Garden. These two teams seek to continue their momentum from their previous wins.
The Cavaliers escaped with a win this past Friday against the Toronto Raptors by the margin of a single free throw, 102-101. Cleveland relied on the efforts of center Jarrett Allen, who posted a double-double on 16 points and 15 boards, and point guard Darius Garland, who had 21 points and eight assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Allen has had at least 15 rebounds.
Meanwhile, New York strolled past the Milwaukee Bucks with points to spare this past Friday, taking the game 113-98. The win came about thanks to a strong surge after the first quarter to overcome a 38-19 deficit. The Knicks’ power forward Julius Randle did his thing and dropped a double-double on 32 points and 12 rebounds.
Cleveland is expected to lose this next one by 7.5. They are currently four-for-four against the spread in their most recent games, however, a trend bettors might want to take into account.
Cleveland is now 6-4 while New York sits at 6-3. Two stats to keep an eye on: The Cavaliers enter the matchup with only 15.5 fouls per game on average, which is the best in the league. But the Knicks rank fourth in the league when it comes to fouls drawn per game, with 20.6 on average. The ref’s whistle might dictate the flow of action in this one.
