Greece host Spain on Thursday with Group B poised to either go the way of La Roja and Sweden or for the Greeks to make one final push. The home side know that they really must win against both Spain and Kosovo to stand a chance of advancing and hope that the Spanish drop more points in their final game against the Scandinavian group leaders.

Here is how you can watch the match and what to know:

Viewing information

  • Date: Thursday, Nov. 11 | Time: 2:45 p.m. ET
  • Location: Olympiako Stadio Spyros Louis — Athens, Greece
  • Live stream: ESPN+
  • Odds: GRE +750; Draw +300; ESP -225 (via Caesars Sportsbook)

Storylines

GRE: This one is do or die for John van ‘t Schip and his men. Win against Spain and they can still dream of finishing in the top two and going to the World Cup playoffs. Lose this and it is over which probably also applies to a draw. The Greeks have a good home record and have taken points from Spain already and beaten Sweden this year.

ESP: Luis Enrique’s men just need to avoid defeat to see out their qualification. If they do lose, suddenly the Sweden clash becomes a pressurized affair with the Swedes very close to booking their place in at least the playoffs. They are also coming off the back of their loss to France in the UEFA Nations League final.

Prediction

The home side to spring a surprise and send Group B to the final round of games. Greece are formidable at home and will give themselves a chance against Kosovo.

Pick: Greece 1-0 Spain.
