CONCACAF World Cup qualifying picks for Panama vs. Honduras

Before you tune in to Friday’s match, you need to see the Honduras vs. Panama picks from SportsLine’s soccer insider Martin Green. After working in the sports betting industry for several years, Green became a professional sports writer and handicapper and has covered the game worldwide. Since then, his European soccer picks have been spot-on. Green has generated over $36,000 for $100 bettors since the 2017-18 season, and he has his finger on the pulse of the game all over the globe.

For Panama vs. Honduras, Green is predicting both teams to score at +110 odds. The last match between these rivals took place in July at the Gold Cup. It was an entertaining, back-and-forth affair in which Honduras prevailed 3-2. Both teams getting on the scoreboard has been par for the course in the all-time series between the nations, as in four of the last six head-to-head meetings, both teams found the back of the net.

Panama has the leading scorer in World Cup qualifiers for Concacaf, as Rolando Blackburn has found the back of the net three times in six games. Those goals all came against defenses much stronger than what Honduras possesses, as the 10 goals it has allowed is the most in the group. The Honduran defense has allowed nine goals over its last four games.

While Honduras has struggled to score thus far, it also hasn’t been a complete team due to injuries. Forwards Romell Quioto and Anthony Lozano have both missed multiple games, leaving Albert Ellis as the lone threat up front. Coach Hernan Dario Gomez will finally have access to all three strikers in addition to several other returning players who should fortify Honduras’ offensive attack.

“Quioto and Lozano are now back in the squad, along with D.C. United defender Andy Najar and Houston Dynamo center-back Maynor Figueroa,” Green told SportsLine. “Honduras should be a lot stronger in this game.”
