Pelicans vs. Grizzlies odds, line: 2021 NBA picks, Nov. 13 predictions from proven computer model

A Southwest Division battle is on tap between the Memphis Grizzlies and the New Orleans Pelicans at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday at the Smoothie King Center. New Orleans is 1-12 overall and 0-6 at home, while Memphis is 6-6 overall and 2-3 on the road. With Zion Williamson (foot) out, this won’t be the high-profile matchup between the top two picks from the 2019 NBA Draft, but Ja Morant is healthy and scheduled to be in the lineup for Memphis.

New Orleans took two of three head-to-head matchups last season and swept the series against the spread, but Williamson played in both the victories and missed the game the Pelicans lost. This time around, Memphis is favored by four points in the latest Pelicans vs. Grizzlies odds from Caesars Sportsbook, and the over-under is set at 220. Before entering any Grizzlies vs. Pelicans picks, you’ll want to see the NBA predictions from the model at SportsLine.

What you need to know about the Grizzlies

The Grizzlies found themselves the reluctant recipients of a 119-94 loss against the Phoenix Suns on Friday. The Grizz were in a tough position by the half, with the score already sitting at 62-43. The losing side was boosted by Morant, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 boards along with six dimes.

Morant is averaging 26.5 points, 7.2 assists and 6.5 rebounds per game this season and the strides he’s made as a scorer have been especially notable. He’s already had five 30-point games after having just eight all of last season and one as a rookie. With the Pelicans ranking 28th in the NBA in scoring defense, Morant will be a candidate for a big night and is capable of taking over the game entirely.

What you need to know about the Pelicans

Meanwhile, the Pelicans came up short against the Brooklyn Nets on Friday, falling 120-112. Despite the defeat, New Orleans got a solid performance out of center Jonas Valanciunas, who posted a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. Valanciunas has been the star attraction with Williamson and Brandon Ingram (hip) out. Ingram remains day-to-day.

He’s averaging 20.0 points and 13.8 rebounds per game this season and his matchup with Steven Adams down low will be one the Pelicans need to win. Fellow free agency signing Devonte’ Graham is averaging 15.8 points and 5.5 assists per game and he’ll also have to carry a heavy scoring load with New Orleans missing its top two stars.
