Who’s Playing

Miami @ Utah

Current Records: Miami 7-5; Utah 8-4

What to Know

The Utah Jazz’s homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Miami Heat at 5 p.m. ET Nov. 13 at Vivint Arena. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

The Jazz entered their game against the Indiana Pacers on Thursday without any home losses — but there’s a first time for everything. The matchup between them was not particularly close, with Utah falling 111-100. This was hardly the result they or its fans were betting on, as they were favored by 10.5 points over Indiana heading into this game. A silver lining for Utah was the play of shooting guard Donovan Mitchell, who had 26 points along with five rebounds.

Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought game, but Miami had to settle for a 112-109 defeat against the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday. Miami was up 40-25 at the end of the first quarter but couldn’t hold on to the lead. Despite the loss, they got a solid performance out of center Bam Adebayo, who posted a double-double on 30 points and 11 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Adebayo has had at least ten rebounds. Adebayo’s points were the most he has had all year.

The losses put the Jazz at 8-4 and the Heat at 7-5. Utah is 2-1 after losses this season, Miami 2-2.
