What to Know
The Indianapolis Colts’ homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars at 1 p.m. ET Nov. 14 at Lucas Oil Stadium. The teams split their matchups last year, with Jacksonville winning the first 27-20 at home and the Colts taking the second 28-14.
Indianapolis strolled past the New York Jets with points to spare on Thursday, taking the contest 45-30. RB Jonathan Taylor continued his habit of dropping crazy stat lines, rushing for two TDs and 172 yards on 19 carries. One of the most memorable plays of the game was Taylor’s 78-yard touchdown rush down the right side of the field in the third quarter.
Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills typically have all the answers at home, but on Sunday the Jaguars proved too difficult a challenge. Jacksonville skirted past Buffalo 9-6. The score was all tied up at the break 6-6, but Jacksonville was the better team in the second half. They couldn’t find the end zone and got their points from three field goals.
Special teams was responsible for all of the team’s points. K Matthew Wright booted in three field goals, the longest a 55-yarder in the second quarter, which ultimately accounted for the difference in the matchup.
The Colts are now 4-5 while the Jaguars sit at 2-6. A pair of defensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: Indianapolis ranks first in the NFL when it comes to rushing touchdowns allowed, with only two on the season. As for Jacksonville, they enter the contest with only 11 passing touchdowns allowed, good for fourth best in the league.
